The Vilkači farm was founded in 1992 and in more than thirty years of operation, has become an example for organic farming in Latgale. Since 2016 it has been a certified organic farm specializing in fruit growing and organic product processing. With an area of 28 hectares, the farm is purposefully developing not only production but also a sustainable approach to agriculture and the promotion of local products. 2023 was a year of change when the farm was taken over by a new owner – an enterprising young man who with the support of the Rural Support Service began a new phase of development as part of the "Support for Young Farmers to Start a Business" program.
