SIA "Lūsēni", a company based in Mežvidi parish, Ludza municipality, is implementing targeted farm modernization by introducing precision farming and no-till technologies. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Rural Support Service  and co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

The company operates in the wood processing and agricultural sectors, specializing in grain farming and managing more than 640 hectares of land, where it mainly grows wheat and rapeseed, as well as oats, buckwheat, peas, and field beans.

The company has a stable and modern technical base, which is regularly updated to increase work efficiency and competitiveness. In cooperation with the Rural Support Service, the company implemented a project 4.1 "Support for investments in rural farms", co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The project involved the purchase of modern grain farming equipment for the introduction of precision farming and no-till technology – soil cultivation discs, mineral fertilizer and lime spreaders, as well as a plant sensor. This equipment reduces resource consumption, improves soil quality and increases productivity.

With new technologies, at least 520 hectares are cultivated each year, of which 320 are sown using no-till technology, which reduces the impact on the climate and promotes soil health. SIA "Lūsēni" continues to modernize its farm by investing in sustainable technologies to develop competitive and environmentally friendly agriculture.

RSS is pleased with the successful cooperation and growth of the farm.
