From October 12 to 14, the 68th World Ploughing Championship was held in the fields of Kuldīgas region in Latvia. This event was supported also by the Rural Support Service of Latvia (RSS).
Ploughmen from 24 countries participated in the championship. In addition to European countries, New Zealand, Australia, Kenya, USA and Canada was also represented. From Latvia there were two participants aiming for the main prize.
On October 14, there was interactive exhibition "Get to know modern Latvian agriculture". RSS had a specially designed tent, where anyone interested had a chance to see how the countryside in Latvia looks from satellite, orthophoto images and how it is visible when flying with drones. RSS representatives also organized a competition, where the most successful participants received prizes and small gifts. At the same time, RSS experts gave answers to the top questions about available support in agriculture.
