Karotītes is an organic farm located in Irlava Parish, Tukums Municipality. Founded in 2016, the farm's goal is to develop organic poultry farming in Latvia. From the beginning, the farm has prioritized sustainable development over rapid growth, focusing on quality, animal welfare, and naturalness.
Liene and Ričards established the “Karotītes” farm after leaving city life behind to live and work in the countryside. Since 2017, the farm has been certified organic and provides 100% organic feed for the chickens. This feed consists mainly of grains grown in Latvia. The birds are raised according to their natural rhythms, with free movement and access to fresh air, which directly influences the quality and distinct flavor of the meat.
Karotītes has developed a full-cycle production process, from raising the birds to processing, packaging, and delivering to customers.
The farm utilizes European Union funds to implement investment projects for farm development and biosecurity measures.
This funding has enabled the farm to expand its barns, develop processing capabilities, and implement energy-efficient solutions, including solar panels.
Today, "Karotītes" continues to grow as a modern, innovative organic farm that collaborates with experts and the "Organic" cooperative. By utilizing European Union support opportunities to improve infrastructure and animal welfare, the farm remains committed to its goal of producing the highest-quality organic chicken meat while protecting the environment and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
