On February 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the Rural Support Service will hold an online seminar on Zoom for all interested parties, during which it will explain how farmers can use the information included in the RAS public map, how they can specify their fields using satellite images, what the most common mistakes are, and what changes in geospatial information are being implemented through the Interreg OASIS project.

Seminar agenda:

  • The most common errors in area payment applications (geospatial application);
  • LAD public map layers, possibilities for using map information in the electronic application system;
  • The use of satellite images in farmers' daily work;
  • Preparation of more accurate geospatial data in the OASIS project.

This is the first seminar on the 2026 area payment season, which will provide information specifically on geospatial information and area inspection and clarification using data included in the LAD map. Seminars on applying for area payments, as well as on the conditions for receiving them and changes in 2026, are planned for March and April.

You can participate in the online event by filling out the application form by February 2. After applying, the Rural Support Service will send you a link to participate in the event.

On improving geospatial information in the OASIS project

Since spring 2025, the Rural Support Service has been participating in the Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania 2021-2027 program OASIS project "Optimizing service availability using integrated Earth observation and artificial intelligence solutions for the development of innovative solutions. The aim of the project is to prepare more accurate geospatial data. This will help farmers in Latvia and Lithuania to use them when applying for area payments, for example, as more accurate geospatial information on the areas under management will be prepared. More information about the project is available on the Interreg Latvia-Lithuania website https://latlit.eu/.

If you have any questions about the planned seminar, please send them to prese@lad.gov.lv.
