Ciemiņi farm, founded in 1991, operates in Dviete parish of the Augšdaugava municipality. Its founder and long-time owner is Edgars Kriškijāns, but as of 2009, Ilmārs Kriškijāns took over the management of the farm. Since 2023, Ilmārs has become the official owner of the farm.
The farm's main activity is dairy farming, with crop farming as a secondary activity. Ciemiņi grows winter wheat, barley, rapeseed, beans, oats and corn, as well as other fodder crops. In addition to its main activities, the farm also provides freight transport services. In 2004, 41.1 hectares of land were cultivated and the herd consisted of 41 dairy cows. By the end of 2024, these figures had increased significantly – the farm now manages 624 hectares of land and has 200 dairy cows.
In order to achieve this growth, significant financial investments have been made in the farm, including with the support of European Union funds. Investment projects administered by the Rural Support Service have enabled the purchase of new agricultural equipment, renovation of an old barn, construction of a new barn for 206 cows, and the construction of a concrete liquid manure storage facility.
The modern farm provides precise feeding of livestock and milk yield recording, both for the entire herd and for each cow individually. The farm has implemented precision farming solutions that significantly increase work efficiency and improve animal welfare conditions. These include the installation of two milking robots, improved ventilation and the creation of convenient manure passages.
ZS "Ciemiņi" is not only a successful company, but also a significant employer in the Dviete parish. The farm's management is purposefully continuing its development course, based on modern technological possibilities, sustainable farming and a professional approach.
The Rural Support Service is proud of farms that use support programs to implement long-term development plans and create a competitive Latvian agriculture sector.
